Welcome!

Dear Members and Fellow Republicans,

Welcome to the Manatee Forum, Republican Women Federated web site and the  “YEAR OF THE CONSTITUTION!”

As the New President, I welcome this new year with great anticipation knowing that there is a lot of work ahead for all Conservatives.

Our Country is going through many changes and it is important that every American understands the Constitution so that we may intelligently speak to our representatives; just because it “feels good” doesn’t make it constitutionally correct.  As a result our  Club has undertaken to explore the Constitution with an eye to the current news.

Our January meeting, January 26th at the Bradenton Country Club,  will be on Amendment 10 – States Rights - and our speaker will be Senator Carey Baker.  He will be sharing the bills that are being presented on States Rights in the 2010 Florida Legislature.

At each meeting throughout the year we will be having a candidate explore the Constitution on one of the amendments – February is the 2nd Amendment, etc.

The end of February finds us in Tallahassee for the annual meeting of the State Federation where we will also be doing some informational gathering with our legislators.  As informed citizens we will be better informed to march the halls of Tallahassee .

Although our Club does not endorse in the primaries we as individuals are involved in the various campaigns and keep each other informed on the issues and where the candidates stand.  In addition our meetings find candidates at the tables so you can really get to know them one on one.

We welcome all conservatives to come to our meetings (please make reservations) and to become better informed.  Help us STOP the march toward redistribution of YOUR wealth.

Pat Baker
